Tribhuvan University Opens Admissions for Bachelor's in Data Science, Offers Full Scholarships

Kathmandu. The School of Mathematical Sciences under the Institute of Science and Technology Studies (IoST), Tribhuvan University, has opened admissions for its undergraduate Bachelor's in Data Science program for the new academic session.
According to a notice issued by the school, applications have been invited from eligible students interested in pursuing the four-year program.
The school has announced 40 seats for the program, including 32 under the open category and 8 under the inclusive quota.
Regarding financial assistance, the school said one male and one female student will receive a scholarship every semester. In addition, 10 percent of the total enrolled students will be awarded full scholarships.
To be eligible for admission, applicants must have passed Grade 12 with a minimum CGPA of 1.8. Students who have completed a Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) or a three-year diploma with at least a second division are also eligible to apply. Likewise, students with a minimum 'D' grade in A-Level examinations may apply.
Applicants who obtained their academic qualifications from foreign institutions must submit an equivalency certificate issued by the Curriculum Development Center.
Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the school's official website until 5:00 p.m. on 23 July. The entrance examination fee has been set at Rs 2,000.
Student selection will be based on a written examination, an interview, and academic performance. Of the total 100 marks, the written examination carries 80 marks, while the interview and academic qualifications carry 10 marks each.
The written examination will consist of multiple-choice questions, including 30 marks each for Mathematics and English, and 20 marks for General Knowledge (GK) and IQ. Candidates must secure at least 35 percent to pass the 1-hour and 45-minute examination.
The entrance examination is scheduled at 8:00 a.m. on 25 July 2026.
