Kathmandu. Hark Raj Rai (Harka Sampang), a Member of Parliament and chairman of Nepal's Shram Sanskriti Party, has filed a complaint with the police cyber bureau regarding threats to his and his family's lives. Sampang appeared at the bureau's office in Bhotahiti on Monday and filed a written complaint against TikToker Sunita Khadka.
According to the complaint, Khadka had threatened to kill him and his family and even set his house on fire. The petition reads, “Action as per the prevailing law should be taken for threatening to kill me and my family members and for using abusive language in the mass media.”
He has demanded strict action against the culprit, claiming that they have spread confusion in society by using abusive language on social media. After filing the complaint, Sampang wrote on Facebook, “Will the government take action against its supporters or not???”
Earlier on Monday morning, Sampang announced on social media that he was preparing to file a complaint. TikToker Khadka had taken down the threatening video and provided an explanation when it became clear that a complaint would be made against her. She has admitted that she made such a threatening statement in a moment of impulse.
MP Sampang has alleged that while he was criticizing the government in his role as part of the opposition, supporters of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) deliberately threatened him. He wrote on Facebook, “Is this the line of RSP (Rastriya Swatantra Party) supporters? Let's see whether the CIB works or not. If the government's unilateral bullying continues, anarchy will engulf the country.”
