Nepal's Junior, Senior Robotics Teams Head to Switzerland for AI for Good Finals

Kathmandu. Nepal's junior and senior national robotics teams have departed for Geneva, Switzerland, to compete in the international finals of the AI for Good – Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2026, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) under the United Nations.
The competition will be held from July 7 to 10, where the Nepali teams, led by the Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN), will compete against top youth robotics teams from around the world in both the junior and senior categories.
Nepal enters this year's competition following a strong performance in 2025, when it won a silver medal in the junior category and a bronze medal in the senior category. The country has also earned recognition in previous international robotics competitions, including the FIRST Global Challenge.
The teams were selected through a national selection competition based on their performance.
The junior team comprises Aaron Bhatta and Riddhi Manandhar from Samriddhi School, Nirvana Singh Rayamajhi from United School, and Shivali Parajuli from Kathmandu Pragya Kunja School.
The senior team includes Aarav Gautam from United School, Sushant Gautam from Aroma College, Chitwan, Sameep Khatiwada from KMC School, and Abriya Shrestha from United School.
Santosh Thapa Magar is serving as the mentor for the junior team, while Engineer Subhash Shrestha is mentoring the senior team. Kunal Shah is accompanying the delegation as team manager.
The national teams are participating with support from Ncell as the primary sponsor. ACA MIT College is the IT education partner, while United School is the education partner for the team.
