Kathmandu: Nepal Telecom has reported a decrease in investment after setting aside billions of rupees for employee pensions. In its financial statements for the fiscal year 2081/082 released on Saturday, the company stated that it set aside Rs 4.94 billion in the last fiscal year and Rs 13.15 billion in the current fiscal year, totaling Rs 19.12 billion for employee pension arrangements.
The amount Nepal Telecom has been keeping in bank deposits has declined significantly, following the payment of Rs 20 billion for GSM license renewal last year. This has affected the company’s interest income. According to the company, interest income fell by about Rs 3.91 billion in fiscal year 2081/082 compared to the previous fiscal year, a decline of 45.29 percent.
