Ncell is providing the support under its previously announced policy of distributing four educational materials for every four hit in the tournament. A total of 607 fours were hit by 99 players in the second edition of the NPL. Based on this count, 2,428 educational materials will be distributed.
Pokhara Avengers player Adam Rossington ensured the highest contribution by hitting 31 fours, which translates into 124 educational materials. Similarly, Lumbini Lions player Darcy Short contributed 104 materials with 26 fours, while Sudurpaschim Royals player Binod Bhandari contributed 92 materials by hitting 23 fours.
The educational kits will include school bags, paper, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and other basic stationery required for students.
Ncell’s Corporate Communications and Sustainability Director Visakha Laxmi Khadka said she was pleased to link the excitement of cricket with educational support. “The players’ performances have not only strengthened their teams on the field, but every four has also supported students in their education,” she said.
Ncell, which is the ‘Powered By’ partner of the NPL this year, also awarded a cash prize of Rs 200,000 to Adam Rossington for hitting the most fours in the tournament. In addition, Rs 25,000 was awarded to the player who hit the most fours in each match.
