Flying car coming to Nepal, can be seen live at NADA Auto Show

Kathmandu: The 'flying car' will be exhibited at the NADA Auto Show starting from August 19 at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu. The flying taxi produced by Chinese automobile company Changan will be showcased at the NADA Auto Show by MAW Vriddhi in Nepal under the name Deepal eVTOL Flying Taxi.

It was informed at a press conference organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday to provide information about the NADA Auto Show that the flying taxi will be exhibited. It is being viewed with interest as different types of vehicles are being displayed at the auto show.

NADA President Karan Chaudhary informed that the Deepal eVTOL Flying Taxi will be given a chance to experience at the Auto Show. "NADA's main focus is the Nepali consumer. We want to embrace the Nepali consumer until the future. You will feel why NADA is different," Chaudhary said.

Chinese company Changan Automobile has entered into a strategic partnership with Chinese intelligent aircraft company EHang to develop and commercialize flying cars. The two companies are said to have jointly invested up to 20 billion yuan over the next five years to develop, produce, sell, and operate flying cars.

Changan plans to conduct a test flight of the flying car this year. Along with the flying taxi, Unitree's robot will also be on display at the NADA Auto Show. 19 four-wheeler brands, 13 light commercial vehicle brands, and 4 two-wheeler brands are participating in the NADA. 35 companies (lubricants, tires, batteries, garage equipment, and financial institutions) and more than 125 exhibitors will participate in the auto show, according to NADA. The organizers expect more than 100,000 visitors to the auto show.

With an area of 300,000 square feet and an exhibition area of 162,500 square feet, NADA claims that this will be the largest auto show in Nepal to date. Those who wish to attend the auto show can purchase tickets in advance through the Khalti app. NADA has stated that those who purchase tickets in advance by August 18 will get 20% cashback.
