Samsung launches Galaxy A17 5G in Nepal, priced above Rs 29,000

Kathmandu: Samsung has launched its new smartphone Galaxy A17 5G in Nepal under the A series. The phone features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, a slim and lightweight design, and a linear grouped camera setup.

The device is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. It also supports AI tools such as Gemini Integration, Gemini Live, and Circle to Search, designed to make daily tasks easier and smarter.

The Galaxy A17 5G runs on Android 15 with OneUI 7 and is powered by an Exynos 1330 chipset. It has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 25-watt fast charging.

Samsung Nepal Director Pranayaratna Sthapit said the Galaxy A17 5G aims to provide a smarter, more convenient, and personalized experience for Nepali consumers. “We believe that innovations should not remain limited to premium devices. The A17 takes a new step towards making AI-powered technology accessible in everyday life,” he said.

The phone includes durability and security features such as Gorilla Glass Victus and IP54 dust and splash resistance. Samsung has also committed to six years of security updates and six OS upgrades.

With the Galaxy A17 5G, Samsung aims to further strengthen its mid-range portfolio in Nepal, presenting the phone as a combination of AI innovation, style, performance, durability, and accessibility.

The Galaxy A17 5G is priced at Rs 34,999 for the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant, Rs 30,999 for the 8 GB RAM and 128 GB variant, and Rs 28,999 for the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant. The phone is available in three colors: Green, Silver, and Black.
