Ramkumari Jhankri Downplays Gen-Z Movement, Links It To Celebrity Girlfriend Dispute

Kathmandu: CPN (UML) leader Ramkumari Jhankri has downplayed the Gen-Z movement, describing it as a conflict between girlfriends and boyfriends. She made the remark while speaking to a YouTube channel on Sunday.

During the interview, the YouTuber raised questions about good governance and the Gen-Z movement, which was launched by youths protesting corruption during the KP Sharma Oli-led government. Responding to this, Jhankri said, “This social media influencer wanted to defame his ex-girlfriend and people followed their content. That is wrong of the youth. People set the country ablaze because of issues between girlfriends and boyfriends? Didn’t you burn someone’s house?”

When the YouTuber questioned her further, Jhankri replied, “You are also like that. And you talk about KP Oli? Didn’t you guys set fire over a celebrity girlfriend because the celebrity social media influencer did not get the attention he wanted? And aren’t the Gen-Z those who promoted this? Is it right to promote such things?”

She also argued that opposition to KP Oli had crossed reasonable limits. “When it comes to job creation, which of you is going to enter the job market? Isn’t it clear that those who loot Bhatbhateni, those who do not work, and thugs are involved?” she said.
