Kathmandu. Nepal has secured the 19th position among 193 countries in the Ataraxis Global Outsourcing Talent Index, marking its entry into the list of the world’s top 20 destinations for talent outsourcing. The ranking highlights Nepal’s growing competitiveness in the global remote work and outsourcing market, particularly in cost efficiency and workforce potential.
According to the index, which evaluates countries based on labor cost, English proficiency, workforce availability, digital infrastructure, and business stability, Nepal scored 79.65 out of 100. The country performed strongest in labor cost efficiency with a score of 96, making it one of the most cost-effective outsourcing destinations globally.
In other indicators, Nepal scored 80 in English language proficiency, 50 in workforce availability, 40 in digital infrastructure, and 50 in business, legal, and political stability. The index assigns the highest weight to labor costs (52.5%), followed by English proficiency (20%), workforce availability (17.5%), digital infrastructure (5%), and political stability (5%).
The Philippines topped the ranking with a score of 90.65, followed by Malaysia in second place and India in third. From South Asia, Pakistan ranked 16th while Bangladesh secured 20th position.
The index draws on data from sources including the World Bank, UNESCO, LinkedIn, the EF English Proficiency Index, TOEFL results, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the Heritage Foundation.
