Electric Microbus Overturns in Nawalpur, Eight Injured, Including Driver

Kathmandu. Eight people, including the driver, were injured after an electric microbus (Hyace) overturned in Gaindakot, Nawalpur, on Monday night.

The electric Hyace (Ba.Pr.02-003 Cha 1205), which was traveling from Pokhara to Kapilvastu, met with the accident at Pitauji in Gaindakot Municipality-10. According to the District Police Office, Nawalpur, the vehicle overturned due to excessive speed.

The injured include driver Bishnu Dharti, 24, of Mandavi Rural Municipality-2, Pyuthan; Arbindra Agrawal, 31, of Krishnanagar Municipality-2, Kapilvastu; Prabha Agrawal, 26; and her 18-month-old daughter.

Also injured in the accident were Riddhi Singhania, 26; Sherry Singh, 23; Shivani Agrawal, 17; and Rishabh Agrawal, 26.

All the injured were taken to Chitwan Medical College (CMC) in Bharatpur, Chitwan, for treatment.

According to Yuvraj Khadka, information officer at the District Police Office, Nawalpur, four of the injured have been discharged after receiving treatment, while the remaining four are undergoing treatment. Police said the condition of all the injured is stable.
