Kathmandu. A new web application called ‘Prashasan Pro’ has been launched in Nepal with the aim of making access to public services easier, more transparent and technology-friendly.
The portal was officially unveiled on Friday by members of the U.S. Embassy Youth Council (USYC) 2025 during a program in Kathmandu.
Developed under the U.S. Embassy’s ‘Digital Diplomacy, AI, and Innovation’ initiative, the platform is designed to reduce the information gap between citizens and government services. It has been built in technical partnership with Youth Innovation Lab and is said to function smoothly even on low internet connectivity.
The portal provides detailed information on key public services, including citizenship certificates, national identity cards and passports. It outlines the required documents, procedures, processing time and service locations to guide users through administrative processes.
According to USYC, the platform will soon expand its database to include additional services such as PAN registration, vehicle registration, voter ID cards and police clearance certificates.
In its initial phase, ‘Prashasan Pro’ focuses on Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, with plans to gradually expand coverage nationwide across all seven provinces.
The web application also allows users to ask administrative questions through text or voice input in both English and Nepali.
USYC has further announced plans to launch a mobile application version of ‘Prashasan Pro’ by the end of June.
