MRR Denies Viral Allegations, Says Man Seen Making Inappropriate Remarks in Viral Video Has No Connection to Group

 

Kathmandu. The Facebook community Men's Room Reloaded (MRR) has denied claims circulating on social media that a man seen in a viral video making inappropriate remarks toward a young woman is affiliated with the group. 

Over the past few days, a video showing a conversation between a young woman and a man who made inappropriate and offensive comments about her has been widely shared across social media platforms. In the video, the woman confronts the man over his remarks, after which he admits his mistake and apologizes. 

Following the video's circulation, several social media users claimed that the man was a member of MRR and even a key organizer of the group's devotional (bhajan) activities in Butwal.

Rejecting those claims, MRR issued a public statement clarifying that the individual has no affiliation with the group. "MRR wants to make it clear that this person is not a member of MRR and is not the leader of any MRR devotional activities anywhere," the statement reads.

Describing itself as an informal Facebook community dedicated to positive social initiatives, MRR said it encourages good deeds while opposing misconduct. The group added that it remains committed to promoting women's safety and gender equality.

MRR also emphasized that it is not affiliated with any caste, religion, gender, political ideology, or political party. "Those who unintentionally make allegations against a group that moves forward with the values of brotherhood and social responsibility are requested to understand the facts before forming an opinion. Opinions should be based on understanding, not assumptions," the statement said.

The group further clarified that its bhajan campaign is a voluntary devotional initiative and is not influenced by any political agenda or issue. It also stated that it remains committed to taking immediate corrective measures and maintaining proper oversight if any deviations occur in connection with its activities.
