Kathmandu: Nepal has improved its fixed broadband internet speed, climbing to the 88th position out of 152 countries on the Ookla Speedtest Global Index.
According to the index, Nepal's median fixed broadband download speed from March to May was 76.14 Mbps, while the upload speed was 60.51 Mbps. From April to June, the download speed increased by 1.76 Mbps, and the upload speed improved by 1.11 Mbps.
With these gains, Nepal now holds the 88th position, with a median download speed of 77.90 Mbps and a median upload speed of 61.62 Mbps. A month earlier, Nepal was ranked 90th.
Latency and jitter remain steady at 5 milliseconds and 2 milliseconds, respectively. However, Ookla has not included Nepal in its mobile internet index, citing concerns over data reliability.
