Sudurpaschim University opens admissions for engineering, 50 percent students to get scholarships

Kathmandu: Sudurpaschim University has opened admissions for engineering programs with 50 percent scholarship seats. The university has announced admissions for undergraduate programs in computer engineering, architecture, and civil engineering, with 48 seats available in each subject.
Dean and Professor Krishna Dutta Bhatta informed that 50 percent scholarships are being provided to students admitted in all three subjects under the university’s School of Engineering, located in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur. According to him, scholarships will be granted to 24 students in each subject.
He said the scholarships will be awarded to academically talented students, those from marginalized communities, and students from the nine districts of Sudurpaschim Province (those who completed Grade 12 and hold citizenship from the same district). Since the university is fully funded by the Government of Nepal, 50 percent of the enrolled students will be offered scholarships.
Prof. Bhatta said, “The tuition fee for students receiving scholarships will be waived. They will only need to pay the semester deposit and other general expenses.” Students interested in applying can fill out the application form online from August 1 to 19. The form can be filled out by clicking on ‘engineering admission open’ at www.fwu.edu.np or www.facultyengineering.fwu.edu.np,. The entrance exam fee is Rs 2,500.
The entrance exam for applicants to the School of Engineering, Mahendranagar, will be held on September 3 at 11 a.m. Classes will be conducted during the day session.
The university has also granted affiliation to two campuses for civil engineering programs. Applications to these campuses can be submitted until September 7. The entrance exam at the affiliated campuses will be conducted on September 10 at 11 a.m. Prof. Bhatta informed that a 10 percent scholarship quota has been made mandatory for students in the affiliated colleges.
