Nepal’s Only Biomedical Engineering College: Courses, Fees, and Career Prospects at NIET
साउन २२, २०८२ ११:१३
Kathmandu: The National Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) has been offering biomedical engineering education in Nepal since 2005. Based in Kupandol, Lalitpur, this private campus is the first institution in the country to introduce a biomedical engineering program. The college emphasizes practical learning over theory.
NIET currently has 316 students and 105 staff members. According to the institution, the high number of staff is due to the extensive time students spend in the lab. Although university assessments consist of 60 percent theoretical and 40 percent practical evaluation, students at NIET primarily acquire theoretical knowledge through hands-on methods.
The campus has an annual intake capacity of 144 students for its biomedical engineering program and 48 seats each for Computer Engineering and B.Tech in AI.
