Kathmandu: Telecom companies and internet service providers have announced special offers targeting Dashain, Tihar, and Chhat. While telecom operators are introducing cheap data and voice packages, ISPs are offering prizes from cars to foreign trips, along with discounts on TVs, smartphones, and electronic devices.
Nepal Telecom has launched its Dashain-Tihar-Chhath Offer 2082. It includes discounted mobile voice and data packages, as well as reduced rates on FTTH connections. Customers who connect new FTTH packages between 22 September to 17 October will get a Rs 500 discount on the connection fee. Under the festival scheme, GSM customers can purchase the 5 GB Festival Unlimited package for Rs 499 and the 10 GB Festival Unlimited Premium package for Rs 699.
Festival Unlimited users can enjoy 2 Mbps unlimited data after using up the daily 5 GB limit under FUP, while Festival Unlimited Premium users can browse at 3 Mbps after consuming 10 GB. Telecom has also launched Joyful Minutes with 1,000 all-net minutes for Rs 250 and Festive Message Package with 1,000 on-net SMS for Rs 99. These packages are valid for 28 days for prepaid users and 30 days for postpaid. The offers are available from 6 to 20 Ashoj and 1 to 10 Kartik.
Ncell has not announced a separate festival scheme. Its Rs 599 unlimited data pack with a 28-day validity, available on the Ncell app, has been branded as the Dashain offer.
Festive ISP Offers
Worldlink, Nepal’s largest ISP, has announced a Dashain bumper offer in partnership with Khalti. Customers paying internet bills through Khalti can enter a lucky draw to win a Deepal S05 car. Couples can also win foreign trips with up to 40 percent discounts on Samsung products. Winners will get to visit Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, and Vietnam. Bill payments through Khalti or Worldlink branches generate coupon codes for participation. Renewals also bring discounts on Samsung products through voucher codes.
Subisu has launched its ‘Dashain Tihar Ko Umang’ offer, giving customers a bumper discount on Daewoo Smart TVs. A 32-inch TV is available for Rs 18,720 and a 43-inch for Rs 28,800, along with three months of free Clear TV subscription.
Vianet has introduced its ‘Mahamahotsav’ scheme for both new and existing customers. A 100 Mbps annual internet package is available for Rs 8,500 including tax, with one month free internet. Customers can buy a mesh router for Rs 2,500, a ZTE Nubia A36 smartphone for Rs 8,299, and a 43-inch Himstar Smart TV for Rs 28,000. Annual payments through eSewa bring Rs 300 cashback. Customers can also win up to 12 months of free internet through a “Spin the Wheel” game.
DishHome has announced three months of free bonus internet for annual subscribers, both new and existing.
CG Net is offering sure-shot gifts along with its Dashain packages. Customers subscribing to 250 Mbps or 350 Mbps packages will receive a mixer grinder, while 150 Mbps subscribers will get a toaster. All will also get one month of free internet. Additionally, 150, 250, and 350 Mbps subscribers can claim three months of bonus internet. Payments through eSewa with promo code ‘CG250’ bring up to Rs 250 or 5 percent cashback.
Other ISPs have also rolled out festive schemes to attract customers with discounts, gifts, and bonus packages.
