Kathmandu: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal website and most airport websites across the country under its subdomain were hacked. A hacker group calling itself Gen-Z Rising Nepal-CTR Nepal took control of these websites and posted warning messages in both Nepali and English.
The group called political party activists “scammers” and issued a stern warning that their activities would not be tolerated. The message displayed on the hacked websites read: “A strong warning to all blind supporters! We do not blindly support any political party, nor do we lick anyone’s boots. We speak the truth, show facts - whether your leader likes it or not.”
The message further stated: “We have carefully observed the increasing presence of scammers in the last post. From now on, every comment, every ID, and every activity of yours will be tracked. Do not trespass your limits - otherwise, all names, IDs, and evidence will be disclosed.”
The group also warned against abusive language, threats, or false propaganda on social media.
The hacked websites included airports.caannepal.gov.np, biratnagar.caannepal.gov.np, simara.caannepal.gov.np, nepalgunj.caannepal.gov.np, gbia.caannepal.gov.np, among others. A single warning message appeared on all these websites.

As soon as the hacking took place, the authority displayed a “regular maintenance” notice to cover its security vulnerability. It claimed that all the data on the websites was safe and said that the websites would be back online soon.
