Government Grants Six Sectors Access to National ID Data

Kathmandu: The government has decided to grant six different sectors access to the National Identity Management Information System through an electronic system, provided they meet the required security standards.

According to the decision made by the Council of Ministers meeting on 29 October, based on a proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs, access will be provided to the areas of foreign employment service, court case management, foreign study permit service under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, local level registration and citizenship, social security, relief and disaster management, immigration service, and identification, certification, and prisoner record management.

The government stated that this initiative aims to enhance coordination and efficiency among institutions using verified national identity data.
