Kathmandu: Nepali dancer and model Ashma Bishwakarma has gone viral on social media with her latest video. She has gained wide praise for her dance cover of the song “Chikri Chikri,” which she recently shared on various platforms.
In the video, filmed against lush green hills and mountains, Ashma performs in a shirt, pants, and a scarf tied around her neck, following the look and dance style of South Indian star Ram Charan. The 44-second video was shot, edited, and color-graded by Suroj Adhikari.
“Chikri Chikri” was released on November 7 as a collaboration between the T-Series and IVY Entertainment YouTube channels. Hindi and Telugu versions were also released on the same day. The Hindi version has crossed more than 20 million views, while the Telugu version has surpassed 51.9 million views.
The song is part of the sports action film Peddy, scheduled for release on March 27, 2026. Ram Charan and Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor star in the lead roles. Composed by AR Rahman and sung by Mohit Chauhan, the song features Ram Charan dancing in a mountainous setting.
In the song, he performs a dance step while pulling a bindi and holding a cricket bat. His dance has become popular in both India and Nepal, inspiring many fans to create their own cover videos.
Among these covers, Ashma’s video has become the most popular. Her footwork during the bindi-pulling step has received particular praise. She released the video on November 11 across multiple social media platforms. Since then, her cover has accumulated more than 70 million views across different platforms.
Instagram has generated the highest number of views for Ashma. The video posted from “Ashma Vishwakarma Official” has received more than 21.8 million views so far.

Her reel was also commented on by the official Instagram page of Peddy, which responded with a “Perfect” emoji. Ashma replied with a heart emoji. Actress Janhvi Kapoor also shared the reel on her Instagram Story on November 13.
The same video on TikTok has received more than 21.7 million views. On Facebook, the public video posted on November 11 has earned more than 20 million views.
Only a few of Ashma’s previous Facebook videos had exceeded one million views, and this is her first to cross the 20-million mark.
The video posted on her YouTube channel, Ashma Vishwakarma Official, has reached 11 million views.
As the song continues to go viral across platforms, many users are praising Ashma’s dance and choreography as even better than the original performance. Some say she has challenged Ram Charan’s dance.
Celebrities, including Priyanka Karki and Rima Vishwakarma, have praised her performance.
Ashma, the only female dancer in The Cartoons Crew since 2010, also identifies herself as Nepal’s first B-Girl. In 2016, The Cartoons Crew rose to popularity with songs like “Fantastic (Paani Paryo),” “Nir Jabhi Risauen,” and “Nai Malai Tha Chhan.”
Often seen alongside Saroj Adhikari, founder of The Cartoons Crew, she has built a strong fan base in Nepal. She is regarded as one of Nepal’s best female dancers and has appeared in hundreds of music videos, performed for various films, and featured in many series with The Cartoons Crew.
