Telecommunications Authority Tops Government Taxpayers, Verix Leads IT Sector

Kathmandu: The Nepal Telecommunications Authority, the regulator of the telecom sector, has emerged as the government agency paying the highest income tax. On the occasion of Tax Day, the government on Monday released a list of individuals and organizations that paid the most tax in fiscal year 2080/81.

The authority was recognized as the highest income tax-paying government agency. In the information technology sector, Verix Nepal Pvt. Ltd. was the top taxpayer. Verix Nepal is an IT company involved in software and application development, business operations support, and virtual risk assessment. The company also works in data processing, analysis, and reporting.

Nepal Telecom was also honored for timely tax payments. CDS and Clearing Limited received recognition for paying the highest taxes among businesses with an annual turnover between Rs 500 million and Rs 1 billion. IME was recognized as the top taxpayer in the remittance sector.
