NMB Bank Launches Payment Gateway, Allows Payments From Foreign Cards

Kathmandu: NMB Bank has launched a card-based online payment gateway in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL). The bank said the service aims to make digital transactions simple and secure across the country.

With this new facility, businesses can now receive payments from customers using Visa and MasterCard issued by any domestic or foreign bank. According to the bank, the gateway supports both physical and online (e-commerce) businesses. The bank believes it will help businesses grow because they can accept payments within Nepal and from abroad.

To enhance security, the payment gateway includes 3D Secure technology. Users must verify transactions using an OTP or password. The bank claims this will significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized purchases and make transactions safer.

The bank expects this collaboration to boost Nepal’s e-commerce sector and strengthen the digitalization of financial transactions.
