Sudan Gurung Launches ‘The Civilian Force’ to Address Citizens’ Problems Using AI and Technology

Kathmandu: Gen-Z leader Sudan Gurung and others have announced the National Unification Campaign and a platform called ‘The Civilian Force’. They said the initiative aims to unite all Nepalis who want change on a single platform.

Releasing a video message on Thursday night, Gurung said the test version of the National Unification Campaign.com (rastraekikaranabhiyan.com) has been made public. He said the platform will collect problems faced by ordinary citizens at the grassroots level. It will take those issues to the center of the state and act as a bridge to find solutions.

According to Gurung, the website will mainly work on two types of agendas. Under the national agenda, overall national problems, such as government instability and ways to resolve them, will be discussed collectively to reach solutions. Under local problems, citizens will be able to directly report basic issues such as village and toll roads, bridges, drinking water, education, and health.

The campaign will make extensive use of modern technology.

Gurung said that in version 2, artificial intelligence, called Agent AI, will be trained using the Constitution and laws of Nepal. The AI will analyze citizens’ problems on a legal basis. A team of experts will then verify the analysis and prepare a final draft. The procedure has been set for the Shadow Government team in Kathmandu to take the file to the relevant ministries and departments and exert pressure for implementation.

In the video, Gurung said, “Leaders are always powerful after elections, but now the people must be powerful. This platform will organize the voices of citizens and make them the decision-makers.”

He clarified that this is not a political party. He described it as an organized force of citizens standing for change in the country.

Gurung said the campaign is currently focused on areas with internet access. He added that work is underway on how to bring the problems of remote villages and districts across the mountains, where there is no internet, to the center in the future. “This is just our first step,” he said. “We will find solutions to the problems of every Nepali.”

Official Launch on January 11

The currently released version will be tested for 10 days. Based on the suggestions and feedback received during this period, the platform plans to officially launch version 1 on January 11, marking Earth Day and National Unity Day. Gurung has called on Nepalis at home and abroad to log on to the website and join what he described as a major campaign for nation-building.
