Himal Hospital’s Message Saying ‘Your Blood Has Become Someone’s Heartbeat’ Goes Viral Globally

Kathmandu: A simple blood donation by Sanjeev Neupane, Chief Growth Officer of digital payment service provider IME Khalti, has turned into an internationally discussed moment after an emotional message from Himal Hospital went viral on social media.

A few days ago, Neupane donated blood at Himal Hospital in Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu. On the evening of December 31, a day before the English New Year, he was contacted by a friend who said a family member urgently needed blood. After confirming his blood group, Neupane immediately went to the hospital and donated blood after completing the required procedures.

About a week later, on Wednesday night, Neupane received a message from the hospital. The message read: “Sanjeev ji, the blood you donated has been received by a 58 Year/Male patient. From your veins to a beating heart. Thank You!”

The message deeply moved Neupane. He took a screenshot and shared it on the social media platform X, writing that the alert made him feel as if he had saved someone’s life.

Neupane, who has more than 8,500 followers on X, posted the screenshot around 9 pm. Initially, the post received limited attention. However, within a few hours, it began spreading rapidly across the platform. “By around 10 pm, there were only about 100 views. By the time I woke up in the morning, it had already gone viral,” he said.

As of the time of writing, the post has crossed more than 80,000 views within about 14 and a half hours. It has received over 80,000 likes, more than 3,100 reposts and quote reposts, 141 comments, and over 1,000 saves.

Users from Nepal and abroad have praised Himal Hospital for the message. Many have described it as a powerful example of how technology can be used to connect human emotions.

Reflecting on the response, Neupane said that no matter how advanced technology or artificial intelligence becomes, it cannot surpass empathy and human sensitivity. He said the message reminded him that emotional connection still matters most.

He believes such positive communication can have a strong social impact at a time when social media is often dominated by negativity and misinformation. Many users who commented or reposted the message said hospitals in their own countries should adopt similar practices to encourage blood donation.
