Voter List Update Process to Resume from April 5

Kathmandu. The collection and updating of the voter list will resume from the upcoming Sunday, April 5, 2026. The Election Commission issued a press release on Wednesday stating that the work related to voter list collection, which had been suspended since November 22, 2026, will now resume.

According to the commission, Nepali citizens who have obtained a national identity card can register their names in the voter list online using the details from their national identity card. In addition, Nepali citizens who are not affiliated with the national identity card system will need to fill out the online form through the commission's pre-enrollment system.

After that, the applicant must be physically present at the provincial and district election offices to provide their biometric details, including their photograph and fingerprints. Additionally, there is a provision to apply online for tasks such as correcting errors in the voter list, removing duplicate names, and updating information on death or migration.

Through this, the commission has stated that errors such as correction to names, surnames, and addresses; transferring names to a convenient location if there are two or more polling stations within the same ward; and correcting inconsistencies not related to citizenship details will be addressed.

From Sunday, you can click here to get more information on how to register and update your name in the voter list.
