Kathmandu. The Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) has introduced a new format for engineers’ registration certificates (licenses), incorporating enhanced security features.
According to the council, the updated certificate was issued in accordance with the decision of the council meeting held on April 8, 2026 and the provisions of the fourth amendment (2082) to the Nepal Engineering Council Regulations, 2057. The council stated that the changes were made after amendments to Schedules 7, 8, and 9 of the regulations, with the aim of introducing a more secure and modern certificate system.
As per a public notice, the newly designed certificate came into official implementation from Monday. Compared to earlier versions, the updated certificate includes improved digital security measures and a more refined design.
The Council said the initiative is intended to strengthen regulation in the engineering sector and ensure the authenticity of the registration certificates.
Established under the Nepal Engineering Council Act, 2055, the council is responsible for registering and regulating engineers across the country. Newly registered engineers will now receive certificates under the revised format.
