Bichuten Data Vault Announces Tier 4 Hyperscale Data Centre in Nepal

Kathmandu. Bichuten Data Vault has announced plans to establish a Tier 4 hyperscale data centre in Nepal to strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure and enhance data security standards.
According to the company, the project is intended to position Nepal as a reliable digital hub in South Asia while supporting the growing demand for secure and high-capacity digital services.
Bichuten Data Vault is led by Nepali entrepreneurs Naveen Agrawal and Min Agrawal of Fair Group, along with Anuj Keyal of Keyal Group, Vishal Kumar Jatia, and Sharad Goel.
The company said a Tier 4-certified data centre offers up to 99.995 per cent uptime, allowing less than 26 minutes of annual technical downtime. Such reliability is considered crucial for sensitive sectors, including banking, telecommunications, and digital services.
The project is planned to operate from two locations, which are Kathmandu and Birgunj. The company plans to begin operations with a capacity of 240 kilowatts and gradually expand the facility to 5 megawatts by 2030.
In a press statement, the company said it has formed strategic partnerships with international technology firms, including Google Cloud, AMD, Micron Technology, and VVDN Technologies for the project.
The company stated that the initiative is based on the belief that “data is the foundation of artificial intelligence and digital transformation,” and aims to ensure that Nepali data remains securely stored within the country.
According to the company, the project is expected to reduce dependence on foreign servers while strengthening national cybersecurity and digital resilience.
Bichuten Data Vault also said it plans to explore the production of technology hardware such as servers, cameras, laptops, and tablets in Nepal in the future.
The data centre will operate entirely on Nepal’s hydropower-generated electricity, which the company says will make the facility environmentally friendly and energy-efficient.
