Kathmandu. Nepal Telecom has expanded its 4G network to Kagkot, the headquarters of Chharka Tangsong Rural Municipality in Dolpa, marking the first 4G site in the Upper Dolpa region.
According to the company, the service was launched from the Mukot tower, located at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level, using a microwave radio link. The new installation brings 4G connectivity to the remote Himalayan settlement for the first time.
Despite this expansion, 4G service has yet to reach Dolpo Buddha and Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipalities in Dolpa, as well as Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality in Manang.
Nepal Telecom said the latest expansion is part of its broader network expansion, noting that 4G service has now reached 750 local levels across the country.
