Kathmandu. Telecom operator Ncell has cautioned the public against misleading online promotions circulating on social media that falsely use its name and logo to lure users into scam activities.
The company issued the warning after detecting multiple fake posts, screenshots, and messages shared through suspicious Facebook pages and links claiming that users can win cash prizes under the pretext of the company’s anniversary celebrations.
According to Ncell, the fraudulent content is designed to trick users into sharing personal information, posing a significant risk of data theft and social media account compromise.
The company urged users not to click on unauthorized links or pages and to avoid sharing personal details with unverified sources.
Ncell also warned that engaging with such fake promotional schemes could lead to financial loss and cyber fraud.
“We want to make it clear that our company has not launched any such schemes. We request everyone to rely only on official information published through our website and verified social media channels,” the company said.
