Kathmandu. Nepal Telecom is set to introduce subscription-based packages for prepaid users starting Sunday, allowing customers to automatically renew their selected plans without having to repurchase them every month.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dr. Bikram Timilsina announced the new system through a Facebook post, saying it is being introduced as part of the government's 100-day action plan under its Delivery-Based Governance commitment.
According to the minister, once users subscribe to a package, it will be renewed automatically as long as there is sufficient balance in their account, eliminating the need for manual renewal each month.
"Under point No. 2 of the government's 100-day delivery-based governance action plan, Nepal Telecom will make various subscription-based packages available for prepaid users starting tomorrow (Sunday)," Timilsina wrote.
Nepal Telecom is also preparing to introduce additional subscription-based packages based on customer demand and usage patterns.
The minister said the state-owned telecom operator will officially announce the available packages, subscription fees, terms, and other details on Sunday.
With the introduction of the subscription model, customers will only need to activate their preferred package once. The package will then continue to renew automatically, provided the user's account has sufficient balance, making the service more convenient and reducing the need for repeated purchases.
