Minor Arrested After Viral Video Shows Bull Beaten and Pushed Off Cliff in Baitadi

Kathmandu. A minor has been arrested after a disturbing video showing a bull being repeatedly beaten before falling off a cliff in Baitadi went viral on social media.

The video, which has circulated widely since Tuesday, appears to show a young boy attacking a bull that was grazing in a steep forest using what appears to be a wooden stick.

In the footage, the minor is seen repeatedly striking the animal's legs before hitting it in the stomach and repeatedly beating its back. Despite the assault, the bull continues grazing for some time.

The youngster then repeatedly strikes the bull on the head. After sustaining the blows, the animal loses its balance and falls off the cliff, according to the video.

According to Suraj Singh, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Baitadi, the incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. on July 25 in a community forest within Patan Municipality.

Singh said the person seen in the video is an approximately 16-year-old minor and that the bull belonged to the child’s own family.

Police said the bull died after falling from the cliff.

The minor was taken into custody on Monday on charges related to animal cruelty, and further investigation into the incident is underway, Police Inspector Singh told TechPana.
