How Nepali Workers Abroad Can Ask for Immediate Help Using Shram Sansar

Kathmandu: The government has recently launched the Shram Sansar portal to provide all labor-related services from a single platform. Developed by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, this portal also includes a feature for Nepali workers facing difficulties abroad to request emergency rescue from the Nepal government.

Here’s how you can request emergency rescue through the Shram Sansar portal. The portal is accessible via both website and mobile app. To use the website, click here to access the Shram Sansar portal. To use the mobile app, click here for Android or click here for iOS/iPhone to download the app.

Once you're on the portal, scroll to the bottom of the website or tap the three-dot menu on the left side of the app and select the Emergency Rescue (आपत्कालीन उद्दार) option.

When you do so, your device will request location access permission. If you allow it, the portal will capture your current location.

The ministry has clarified that, respecting users’ privacy, the location is collected only once and is not tracked continuously. After granting permission, you can upload details such as descriptions of the situation, photos of injuries, passport images, and other relevant documents.

Next, you can choose between treatment, emergency rescue, or return to Nepal.

The information submitted through the form is sent to the concerned Nepali embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Based on your location and the urgency of your situation, rescue operations are then initiated.
