Ministry of Industry’s Action Plan: ‘Nepali Utpadan’ Portal to Sell Domestic Goods, E-Commerce Guidelines by Magh

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies is preparing to launch an online portal called ‘Nepali Utpadan’ by Magh, in collaboration with the private sector, to make the sale and purchase of domestic products more systematic and accessible.

The initiative is part of the ministry’s Immediate Reform Action Plan 2082, designed to enhance efficiency and transparency in public services related to industry, commerce, and supply.

Under the plan, the ministry will invite proposals and publish a shortlist by Poush to provide collateral-free loans at a 3 percent interest rate to startup entrepreneurs. It is also preparing to draft and implement national e-commerce guidelines by Magh.

Similarly, the ministry plans to establish a toll-free complaint line at Nepal Oil Corporation by Kartik to improve public grievance handling.

By Mangsir, the ministry aims to collect and process online applications for training and technology transfer, and to launch a Mines Management Information System (MMIS) for managing mining permits, renewals, and administration.

It will also make it mandatory for companies to publish key details on the websites of the Office of the Company Registrar or the Department of Industry, while working to digitize old company records.

In coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministry will hold regular virtual discussions with Nepali missions abroad to promote trade and investment.

Meanwhile, the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection aims to begin procurement for an online registration system by Magh, and make import license issuance fully online by Mangsir.
