This Is How to Correct Errors in the Voter List or Change Polling Station Online

Kathmandu: Along with registering a new name in the voter list for the upcoming House of Representatives elections on 5 March, the Election Commission has also provided the facility to correct errors in the list and move the voter list.

Even if your name is registered in the voter list but there are errors in the details, you can correct them by 30 Kartik. In addition, if you have to move to another place after relocation or marriage, you can also move the voter list to the relevant location.

Process for Correcting Errors and Moving the Voter List

You can not only register your name in the voter list but also pre-register online to correct errors in the registered voter details and move the polling station.

• For this, first go to the link on the official website of the Election Commission.

• Then you will see the option of Pre-registration and Update the Voter List.

• After clicking on it, you will see two options: New Registration and Update the List.

• Click on Update Voter List.

• 

• Then a new interface will open, where you must enter your mobile number.

• 

• After entering the mobile number, you will receive an OTP number on your phone via text message.

• After that, you will see the voter list with the details you registered earlier.

• 

• Using the same mobile number, you can correct the error in the voter list of your family members or proceed with the process of changing the polling station. For that, you have to click on New Request. Along with that, the voter number of the concerned person and the citizenship number or date of birth is mandatory.

• After entering the required details, you will see the schedule for amending the voter details. You will see four options in it: Schedule-2 for correcting errors in the voter list, Schedule-3 for complaints about inclusion in the voter list by providing false details, Schedule-4 for removing duplicate names from the voter list, and Schedule-6 for details related to moving the voter list.

• If there is an error in the voter list, you should select Schedule-2.

• 

• After selecting it, the form format for applying to correct an error in the voter list will open. If the details with errors are on one side of the form, you can see the correct details that should be on the other side. To correct them, go to the section with the error and click the red circle as shown in the sample photo below.

• 

• After entering the details to be corrected, you must upload a government document to verify it, such as a citizenship certificate, marriage certificate, or migration certificate. Remember, the size of the uploaded file must not exceed 500KB.

Voter Center Transfer Process

• If you need to move the polling station, you must select Schedule-6.

• 

• Then you will see the form for applying to transfer the voter list. Your current details and address will be displayed at the top. Below that, enter the address to which you want to move. You can register the application for the new address by filling in the certified document. For this, you must also upload your citizenship certificate, marriage certificate, permanent migration certificate, or other certified government documents.

• 

You do not need to physically visit the election office for these tasks. All the work can be completed online.
