PAN Registration, Tax Payment, and Certificates Now Available Online and From Local Levels

Kathmandu: The Permanent Account Number (PAN) certificate can now be obtained from the respective local level. After the Inland Revenue Department under the Ministry of Finance decided to dissolve its taxpayer service offices, the responsibility of issuing PAN certificates has been handed over to local governments.

The department stated that since it may take some time for local levels to start providing these services, taxpayers can currently obtain PAN certificates from the Treasury and Controller of Accounts offices in their respective districts.

The department has also launched an online system to enable taxpayers to make tax payments and obtain tax payment certificates digitally.

In line with its goal of making services more accessible and technology-friendly, the Inland Revenue Department said it is decentralizing service delivery. Until the new system is fully implemented, taxpayer service offices will continue to provide regular services.

The department has also called for cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of the new system.
