More Than Five Lakh New Voters Added, Including Two Lakh and Twenty Five Thousand Through National ID Cards

Kathmandu: A total of 527,637 new voters had been added as of Sunday. The option to register for the voter list using national identity cards has seen strong public participation.
According to the Election Commission, 302,062 people have registered their names in the voter list by visiting election offices and providing biometrics as of November 16. Similarly, 225,575 people have registered through national identity cards.
The option to register through national identity cards was introduced only on November 13. As of 9 pm on November 16, 136,329 men, 89,238 women and eight others, a total of 225,575, registered through national identity cards.
