Nagarik App Adds Feature to Check Driving License Print Status

Kathmandu. Driving license holders can now check through the Nagarik App whether their QR code-based smart driving license has been printed. The new feature was introduced after the Department of Transport Management began dispatching licenses printed by the Security Printing Center to concerned offices for distribution.

The service has been added in the latest Nagarik App update (version 2.0.95). In the app’s ‘Driving License’ section, users whose cards have been printed will receive a notification stating, “Your driving license has been printed, please collect it from the concerned office.”No notification will appear if the card has not been printed.

At present, the feature is available only for Android users. Officials said the service will soon be expanded to iOS devices as well.

According to an agreement signed on 29 October, 2025, between the Department and the Security Printing Centre, printing of 1.2 million QR code-based licenses has been completed. Of these, the department said 670,000 cards have been dispatched to the respective offices.

After receiving the notification, applicants must visit the concerned transport office to collect their license. Those collecting a newly issued license must present the original revenue payment receipt. Applicants renewing their license must also bring their old license card when collecting the new one.
