Nepali Hacker Birendra Sah Secures No. 1 Spot on Bugcrowd Global Rankings in April

Kathmandu. Nepali cybersecurity professional Birendra Sah has secured the top position on the monthly hacker leaderboard of ‘Bugcrowd’ for April.

According to the platform, which connects ethical hackers with organizations worldwide, Sah led the rankings with 88 valid submissions (verified vulnerabilities) and earned a total of 855 points during the month. Mostafa Mamdoh from Egypt placed second with 845 points, followed by Kanhaiya Sharma from India in third with 815 points.

Bugcrowd’s overall data show that Sah has identified and reported 1,731 vulnerabilities across various software, earning 10,190 points. The platform also reports a 99.25 percent accuracy rate in Sah’s submissions.

Since joining Bugcrowd in 2021, Sah has recorded 238 valid submissions in 2025 and 232 so far in 2026. 

Another Nepali, Abiral Shrestha, also features among the platform’s top 100 hackers globally. Active since 2017, Shrestha ranks 38th overall, having discovered 1,031 vulnerabilities and earned 9,685 points.

Sah and Shrestha are the only two Nepalis listed among Bugcrowd’s top 100 researchers, a ranking that includes thousands of cybersecurity professionals worldwide.
