Kathmandu. Nepal Telecom has introduced an online application system that allows customers to apply for a replacement SIM card if their existing SIM has been lost or damaged.
The new service supports applications for both physical SIM cards and eSIMs. Customers can submit their requests through Nepal Telecom's online portal by visiting esm.ntc.net.np and selecting the 'Apply for Lost/ Damaged SIM' option.
First-time users must create an account using their email address before completing the application. Applicants are required to provide personal details, including their name, address, and identification information using a citizenship certificate, passport, or driving licence, along with a recent photograph.
As part of the verification process, customers must also enter the last five different phone numbers they recently called to confirm ownership of the SIM.
After the online application is approved, customers can collect the replacement SIM from the designated Nepal Telecom counter by paying a Rs 50 replacement fee.
For customers who are unable to visit the office in person, Nepal Telecom has also enabled SIM collection through an authorized representative. In such cases, the applicant must provide the representative's details during the online application, and the representative must present a valid identification document when collecting the SIM.
