Chinese Electric Van ‘Karry’ Launched in Nepal, Starting at Rs 5.856 Million

Kathmandu: Laxmi Group has officially launched the Chinese electric vehicle brand ‘Karry’ in the Nepali market. Its subsidiary, L.X.G Motors Pvt. Ltd., unveiled two electric vans, Kevan 1 and Kevan 2, at the NAIMA Mobility Expo, which kicked off Wednesday at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
These vans are designed for both commercial and educational use. The 15-seater Kevan 1 is priced at Rs 5.856 million, while the 16-seater Kevan 2 is priced at Rs 6.36 million.
The vans come in two variants: a brown commercial version for general transport and a yellow school version specially built with child safety features.
Key Features
Both vans are powered by a 53 kWh LFP battery, offering a range of over 300 kilometers on a full charge, according to the company. They are equipped with a Permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that delivers up to 80 kW of power and 270 Nm of torque.
To suit Nepali road conditions, the vans have a ground clearance of 180 mm. Safety features include front disc and rear drum brakes, ABS, EBD, and fire extinguishers.
Speaking at the launch, Sanjay Khadka, Head of Sales and After-Sales Support at LXG Motors, said the vans will support sustainable mobility. “These vehicles offer a reliable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional fuel-powered vans,” he said. “We are confident in their performance for both commercial and school purposes.”
L.X.G Motors has invited attendees to visit Stall D-12 in Hall D at the NAIMA Mobility Expo to learn more and view the vehicles. LXG Motors is part of Laxmi Group, a prominent Nepali business conglomerate.
