The hackathon is being attended by undergraduate students enrolled in information technology programs, as well as others interested in technology. Participants are developing technology-based solutions focused on tourism, healthcare and access, financial technology (fintech), agricultural technology (agritech), cultural identity, and open source, in line with Nepal’s current needs and potential.

Phulbabu Jha, head of the college’s School of Science and Technology, said the program provides students with an opportunity to develop prototypes of their ideas, implement them, and receive guidance from experts.

For this year’s edition, 138 teams initially registered. From them, 32 teams were selected through online presentations. Similarly, 118 participants out of 423 individual registrations are taking part directly in the program.

Chief Jha said the best ideas from the competition will receive prizes, along with mentorship and networking opportunities. This is the third edition of Idea X, which was launched in 2080 BS.
