The curriculum for the second to eighth semesters was unveiled during a program held on Monday at Shramik Shanti Campus in Chyasal, Lalitpur.

Buddhi Raj Joshi, Dean of the university’s Faculty of Science and Technology, said teaching for the first semester has already been completed. He stated that the curriculum for the remaining semesters was prepared after reviewing the experience of the initial semester.

Under the four-year program, students will study subjects ranging from fundamentals of information technology to advanced AI-related technologies. First-year courses include programming, data structures, databases, computer networks, and operating systems.

The curriculum also covers data science, data visualization, web technology, and artificial intelligence. Advanced topics such as machine learning, deep learning, data mining, computer vision, and natural language processing are included in later semesters.

In addition, the program gives priority to emerging areas such as AI ethics, policy and governance, AI deployment in the cloud, cybersecurity, and the digital economy.

The four-year course carries a total of 122 credit hours, including 105 lecture sessions, 36 tutorials, and 91 practical classes. It also includes a mandatory 13-credit project and a 3-credit internship.
