What’s Special About the BYD Atto 2 Priced at Rs 43.99 Lakh?

Kathmandu: BYD has launched its new compact electric SUV, Atto 2, in Nepal. The vehicle was unveiled on Tuesday by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the NADA Auto Show 2025. Cimex Inc, the official distributor of BYD Auto Industry Company Limited in Nepal, has introduced the model, calling it the most affordable SUV in its segment.

Designed for young entrepreneurs and families, the Atto 2 combines compact styling, easy handling, and SUV practicality, making it suitable for both urban and suburban roads. The SUV measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, 1,675 mm in height, and has a 2,620 mm wheelbase. With a 200 mm ground clearance, BYD says it is well-suited for Nepali terrain.

Powered by BYD’s blade battery and advanced cell-to-body (CTB) technology, the 51.13 kWh pack delivers a range of 345 km (WLTP) on a full charge. Its 100 kW motor produces 290 Nm torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 9 seconds.

The exterior is styled with a bold design, highlighted by full LED headlights, a floating roofline, and a rear spoiler with a Mobius Infinity Ring design resembling the number “8”, features the company believes will appeal to younger buyers.

Inside, BYD has focused on a premium and tech-forward experience. Highlights include synthetic leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a six-way power driver’s seat, a four-way power passenger seat, and a 12.8-inch intelligent rotating touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV also features an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster, voice assistant, and wireless smartphone charging.

For safety, the Atto 2 is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and auto emergency braking. It also offers six airbags, a 360-degree view monitor, and electronic stability control.

The Atto 2 starts at Rs 4.399 million, including a 7 kW wall-mounted charger. Customers booking during the NADA Auto Show 2025 will receive special offers such as, one-year free Auto Plus insurance, a 3.3 kW portable charger, a 10-year extended warranty, a free accessories package, and free BYD app connectivity for 10 years. 

The SUV will be available in Bridge Green, Harbor Grey, Cosmos Black, and Sky White, with bookings open at BYD showrooms nationwide.
