Balen Shah Criticized for Using Offensive Language on Facebook

Kathmandu: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has faced criticism after posting a Facebook status containing offensive words. The post, made around midnight on Saturday, has sparked widespread backlash.

In the post, Balen used explicit English terms targeting the US, India, and China, as well as major Nepali political parties, the CPN (UML), Nepali Congress, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and the Maoist Center.

He wrote a statement implying that “even all of you together cannot do anything,” which quickly drew attention and criticism online.

Although Balen deleted the post after some time, screenshots of it have gone viral. Social media users continue to share and comment on the post, fueling further debate over his choice of words.
