Kathmandu. Now, employees who resign or are subject to mandatory retirement no longer have the obligation to go to the Civil Service office for their retirement (pension) and gratuity. The Department of National Personnel Records held a program on Friday and launched an integrated digital retirement (pension) service for retired employees.
The Department of National Personnel Records had successfully conducted a pilot test of the digital pension service in the past 12th of Poush. The Treasury and Accounts Controller Offices of all 77 districts now have access to this system as facilitators following the official launch of the system, according to Shobhakar Pandey, Director and Information Officer of the Department of National Personnel Records. According to him, employees can submit online applications from their respective districts, and once the department verifies the details, the service will be ensured from the district itself.
According to Director General Shravan Kumar Pokharel, “If the head of any office requests to provide e-pension services to a retired employee from their own office, a provision will be made to give one-time access. For this, there will be no need to visit the District Treasury and Accounts Controller Office.”
This system includes services such as pension authorization, gratuity determination, accumulated leave, and medical treatment certificates. Additionally, the Department of National Personnel Records has provided the facility for employees to directly open a retirement benefit account in the bank of their choice.
The documents and sample forms required for pension services can be obtained from the official site of the National Archives. The archives have stated that in the near future, the pension entitlement certificate and identification card will be made accessible for viewing and printing through the Citizen App.
